PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and compact camera shake reducing and preventing function judging device having simple constitution. SOLUTION: Whether or not a camera is equipped with the camera shake reducing and preventing means(1st and 2nd angular velocity gyroscopes 117 and 118 and a gyroscope control circuit 112) is stored in an EEPROM 111; and whether or not the camera is equipped with the camera shake reducing and preventing means is judged from the stored content of the EEPROM 111 by a CPU 101. Based on the judged result by the CPU 101, the operation control means of the camera decides whether or not the camera shake reducing operation or preventing operation is performed.
