The invention is a bi-fold door closure securing device which provides an easily installed apparatus which effectively prevents small children from opening bi-fold doors due to the device being located beyond the small child's reach at the top edge of the bi-fold doors, the device also prevents children from opening and then closing the hinged joint on their fingers. The invention is a simple U channel apparatus being of adequate width to fit downwardly inverted upon the bi-fold doors top edges, and is positionable fully upon one upper door half when the bi-fold doors are open, and is of adequate length as to significantly overlap both upper door edges when slid midway over the central hinged joint when the bi-fold doors are closed, thereby securing the doors. The device has a protrusion on its front side for manually positioning it, the protrusion may be equipped with an orifice for an attachable lanyard. The device is installed by sliding it atop and fully upon the upper edge of either door half when the bi-fold doors are open. The device can be equipped with a fastening mechanism providing it with sliding resistance. The device can be constructed of moulded plastic or of thin sheet metal having a punched out protrusion or a separate affixed protusion providing a protruding surface.
