摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform feeding of oxygen and stirring and mixing in a ditch in accordance with condition of influent by installing horizontal shaft type aerators whose numbers of rotation are controllable and controlling the numbers of rotation of these aerators by predetermined time schedules. SOLUTION: Two horizontal shaft type aerators 2a and 2b are installed to a ditch 1. These aerators 2a and 2b are connected with a driving device 9 which can set and control the numbers of rotation at several stages and they stir the surface of water in the ditch 1 by means of stirring blades on the outer peripheral parts to feed necessary oxygen and form a circulation flow in the ditch 1 so as to avoid settling of active sludge. In addition, sewage and waste water treatments are performed by controlling the numbers of rotation of the aerators 2a and 2b based on preset time schedules. E.g. during time zone when the amt. of loading of influent in general homes is large, the aerators 2a and 2b are rotated at high speed. Sewage and waste water are inexpensively and highly reliably cleaned thereby.</p>
