The present invention pertains to a ladder system for climbing to a first area above a ceiling form a second area below the ceiling. The ladder system comprises a ladder. The ladder system also comprises a mechanism for allowing the ladder to slide between the first area and the second area. The allowing mechanism is attached to the ladder and to the ceiling. The present invention pertains to a method for climbing from a floor to a ceiling above the floor. The method comprises the steps of pulling a door assembly down from the ceiling. Next, there is the step of sliding the ladder along the door assembly until the bottom of the ladder contacts the floor while extending to the ceiling along the door assembly. The present invention pertains to a ladder assembly. The ladder assembly comprises a rectangular carton. The ladder assembly comprises a bottom ladder section which fits into the carton. Additionally, the ladder assembly comprises a middle ladder section which fits into the carton and contacts the bottom ladder carton. The ladder assembly comprises a top ladder section which fits into the carton and contacts the middle ladder section. Also, the ladder assembly comprises a plurality of joints for connecting the bottom ladder section and the middle ladder section, and the middle section to the top section. The joints are disposed in the carton. The ladder assembly comprises a mechanism for connecting a ladder formed from the bottom, middle and top ladder sections and the plurality of joints to a ceiling. The connecting mechanism is disposed in the carton.
