PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening mechanism for a friction clutch to be arranged in a power transmitting system of an automobile, capable of operating and/or removing a control valve from the outside when a housing bell is connected to an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: In this operating mechanism which includes positioning servo devices 74, 52, having an air pressure cylinder device 56 acting in a release bearing device 48, and is made operable through a servo valve 74 connected to an air pressure source based on a guide amount representing a target position and an actual amount representing an axial direction position of the release bearing device, the air pressure cylinder device 56 is arranged in the inside of a housing bell 4, and a control valve 74 is arranged in the outside of the housing bell or at least partly in the inside thereof.
