<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a position that is brought into contact with a piezoelectric substrate or non-piezoelectric plate which is provided on it and to display information that corresponds to the position on a display screen. SOLUTION: When an electric signal is inputted from interdigital electrodes TO, TX and TY, an elastic surface wave is excited on a piezoelectric substrate 1. The elastic surface wave is converted into an electric signal that has a phaseθbase and outputted by an interdigital electrode RO and also converted into electric signals EXi and EYj by interdigital electrodes RX and RY respectively, but they are not outputted. However, if they come into contact with the intersection of a position FXx and a position FYy on the substrate 1, electric signals EX-x and EY-y are outputted from interdigital electrodes RX and RY respectively. The intersection of the positions FXx and FYy is specified from the difference between phasesθX-x andθbase of the signal EX-x and the difference between phasesθY-y andθbase of the signal EY-y , and information that corresponds to the intersection is shown on a display screen.</p> |
