An apparatus for chopping hardboiled egg includes an elongated sealable vessel large enough to receive approximately one to three shelled hardboiled eggs. Suspended within the vessel is a stationary cutter that divides the interior of the vessel into two approximately equal chambers. The cutter preferably includes a pair of stainless steel strands that extend along substantially perpendicular diagonals within the vessel. With the egg sealed within, the user shakes the vessel so as to cause the egg to pass between the two chambers and to strike the cutter, thereby causing the egg to be chopped.
