<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of print quality due to divided driving by using a low cost thermal head. SOLUTION: A thermal recorder 1 shown on the drawing comprises a data generating section 5 delivering an identical print data DATA for one line twice during one line period, and a section 6 generating a mask signal MASK for validating the odd pixels and invalidating the even pixels in the first time print data DATA while invalidating the odd pixels and validating the even pixels in the second time print data DATA, and AND gate 8 for outputting the logical product of print data DATA and the mask signal MASK as a mask data MDATA, and a driver IC for delivering a signal corresponding to the mask data MDATA based on an inputted strobe signal to the heating elements and driving the heating elements while dividing by two.</p> |
