PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent edge contact by furnishing an outer peripheral peripheral surface of a single curvature radius to make contact with a spherical seat of a piston and a flat sliding surface to make contact with a swash plate and calibrating a top part by a partially spherical surface of a curvature radius larger than a curvature radius of the spherical seat. SOLUTION: A shoe 10 is molded of a steel ball by die forging and shows a semi-spherical or button type outer appearance. An outer peripheral surface 14 making contact with a spherical seat 4b of a piston 4 is constituted of a spherical surface of a curvature radius R1 which is equal to a curvature radius of the spherical seat 4b or slightly smaller than it. A top part 16 of the shoe 10 is constituted of a partially spherical surface of a curvature radius R2 larger than the curvature radius R1 of the outer peripheral surface 14 and makes most suitably contact with the spherical seat 4b. Consequently, it is possible to prevent edge contact of the shoe 10 against the spherical seat 4b.
