PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set provided with a display device on which a long character string in displayed on one lateral line regardless of the lateral width that is made small in the small sized portable telephone set. SOLUTION: A rotary cover 3 that covers a plurality of operation keys 43 provided to the surface of a main body casing 4 is fitted turnably between a closing attitude covering the key operation panel and an open attitude to expose the key operation panel. A display device 31 extended in the lengthwise direction is placed on the surface of the rotary cover 3. In the case of operating the operation keys 43, the rotary cover 3 is turned from the closing attitude to the open attitude. Thus, the key operation is made available and a series of a character string entered by the key operation is displayed on the display device 31 in a lateral direction. |
