A system for treating a predetermined volume of soil comprises delimiting a volume of soil by installing substantially impermeable barriers to surround the selected volume of soil, providing a pipe network including perforated fluid conduits, inserting the fluid conduits below the selected volume of soil but within the limits of the barriers, introducing a selected soil treatment fluid in the perforated fluid conduits so as to force the soil treatment fluid into the selected volume through seepage and cause the selected soil treatment fluid to rise in the soil within the limits of the barriers.
