PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar battery communication system with superior reliability, capable of continuing communication by power generated from a solar battery, even if there is power failure in a commercial power source. SOLUTION: A plurality of solar battery panels 2 and a communication unit 4 are fitted on an electric pole 1. The communication unit 4 involves a battery power source 5 for power failure backup and is operated by a commercial AC power source 10 in a time zone (at no power failure time) other than a solar battery generating time zone. In the solar battery generating time zone (at no power failure time), it is operated by the respective solar battery panels 2. In case of power failure, it is operated by the respective solar battery panels 2 or the battery power source 5. |
