PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply construct a gas leakage detecting system at a low cost and to detect an LP gas leakage from a buried pipe on the ground surface. SOLUTION: This system 100 detecting a gas leakage from a piping system and specifying its leakage position is provided with a filter processing means 1 applying the prescribed weighting process to the collection sound information 12 collected on the ground surface and removing noise, a leakage sound determining means 2 comparing the collection sound information 12 applied with the filter process and the noise information patterned in advance by pattern matching and removing the noise information from the collection sound information 12 to determine leakage sound information, and a leakage position specifying means 3 combining the leakage sound information and the information of the collection sound position where the leakage sound information is obtained as a set, specifying the position having the maximum leakage sound from multiple sets of information, and determining the position as the leakage position of the piping system.
