<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft being excellent in a bending rigidity balance while securing a high vibrating attenuation factor and excellent bending property by setting the peak of a bending rigidity in a specified position from a tip and setting the peak value to be within a specified range. SOLUTION: A golf club shaft 10 is formed so as to be provided with the peak of the bending rigidity which is 2,000,000-4,000,000 kgmm<2> in value (EI value) at a 80 to 500-mm distance from the tip of the shaft 10. Thus, the high vibrating attenuation factor and excellent bending property are exhibited and a refresh feeling at the time of usage is improved. In order to obtain such a peculiar rigidity distribution, a swelling part 12 consisting of a carbon fiber reinforcing plastic in which a pulling elastic modules is 5-20 ton/mm<2> is formed at the 80 to 500-mm distance from the tip of the shaft 10. The swelling part 12 is the one which is projected partially outward in the shaft 10, it is favorable that its top part height H is 2-5 mm and it is also favorable that the width W of the swelling part 12 is 30-150 mm.</p> |
