<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible tube having high practical merits satisfying the whole required performance such as miniaturization/light weight, low cost, high displacement/absorptivity and high durability in the flexible tube for an automobile exhaust system absorbing the relative displacement of a first exhaust pipe attached to the engine side and a second exhaust pipe attached to the muffler side. SOLUTION: This flexible tube is equipped with a bellows 3 whose both end parts are connected to a first exhaust pipe 1 and a second exhaust pipe 2 and which absorbs the displacement of these exhaust pipes 1, 2, an outer cylinder 4 formed into a cylindrical shape by a steel plate member so as to cover the periphery of the bellows 3, a protector 5 which is formed into a cylindrical shape having a small diametral part and a large diametral part enlarged from the small diametral part and whose small diametral part is fitted and fixed to one end part of the bellows 3 and large diametral part is provided adjacently to the outer cylinder 4, and a conical coil spring 7 arranged coaxially with the outer cylinder 4 and interposed between the free end part side of the outer cylinder 4 and a support collar 6, and the protector 5 has a ventilating hole 9 through which an annular space 8 is communicated with the outside.</p> |
