PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inflate an inflated and developed bag element between a vehicle body side and an occupant without sag and without increasing the work amount in attaching of the bag element to the vehicle body. SOLUTION: A bag element 12 gas supplied with gas from an inflator 56 is inflated and developed into an occupant chamber. Simultaneously with inflation and development of the bag element 12, a piston 58 in a module case 54 is moved by gas pressure to apply tension to a strap 38. The strap 38 brings the side end of an inclined side part 12D side in the band width direction into contact with strap contact parts 26, 28 to press the strap contact parts 26, 28 in the direction of the inclined side part 12A by restriction force F1 , F2 . The strap contact parts 26, 28 to which restriction force F1 , F2 is applied restrict the inflated and developed bag element 12 from sagging in the direction of the occupant and prevent the bag element 12 from projecting (fluttering) in the direction of the occupant. |
