<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of image quality by controlling the temperature of a heating element to a specified level at the end of a pause time within the recording time of one line when the heating element is conducted for a maximum conduction time. SOLUTION: The address path and data path of a CPU 81 in a head control means 8 are connected with interlocked switching means 4a, 4b in order to switch respective paths and memories alternately and a thermal head 2 forms a latch circuit and a shift register along with heating elements, transistors, gates, and the like. In the recording time of one line comprising a pause time for not conducting all heating elements regardless of the conduction time and the gradation data of the heating element, the pause time is controlled such that the temperature of the element will be lower than or close to a temperature where color development of a recording sheet or ink transfer thereto is started when the element is conducted for a maximum conduction time.</p> |
