PURPOSE: A method for limiting a reception of a digital satellite broadcast receiver is provided to completely prevent a reckless teleview by designating a specific channel and a time which a user does not want to teleview. CONSTITUTION: A user inputs a private password through an input receiving unit(S11). After confirmed as having a teleview limit(S20), the user inputs a time and a channel prohibited to teleview(S21). A control unit acquires a program information interpreted from a satellite broadcast signal(S22). The control unit reads a channel and a time information from a program information table and confirms whether the channel and the time information is the same with a channel and a time prohibited to teleview(S30,S40). The control unit transmits a corresponding program number to a digital decoding unit(S41). The digital decoding unit does not perform decoding on a data row corresponding to a received program number(S42).
