<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow one radar system to properly acquire and detect a remote target in front and targets over a wide range in lateral directions. SOLUTION: The radar system having a transmission means, a reception means (10) and a processing device 20 that calculates a target position from signals from them, a beam shaping means 30 is provided to an entrance part of the transmission means. This beam shaping means 30 preferably uses a progressive focus lens 35 where a focal distance in the middle of a lens is short and the focal distance gets longer toward an outer circumferential part of the lens. In the radar system 1 of the configuration above, a radar beam RB scanned by a reflector 40 and a drive mechanism 50 has a narrow width in the middle of the scanning area so as to be used for detecting a remote target and has a wider beam width in both left and right sides so as to be used to detect efficiently a nearby obstacle.</p> |
