A fuel assembly for a light-water reactor comprising a plurality of fuel rods (4, 4a, 4b, 4d) extending between a top tie plate (5) and a bottom tie plate (6), or from a bottom tie plate in a direction towards a top tie plate (5). Each fuel rod (4, 4a, 4b, 4d) comprises a cladding tube (7a) with a first and a second end, the cladding tube (7a) surrounding a column of fissionable material divided into fuel pellets (7b). At least one of the fuel rods (4, 4a, 4b) includes axial gaps (19) arranged between the main part of the total number of fuel pellets (7b). |
