<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust emitted light quantity with simple constitution and without lowering contrast and quality of an image by providing a polarizing element for adjusting the emitted light quantity. SOLUTION: A polarizing element 18, for adjusting the emitted light quantity, is arranged between an emission end 13b and a polarizer 14 of an optical fiber array 13. An optical signal generating device turns on/off a beam radiated from a light source 11 with the combination of the polarizer 14, a polarization optical shutter element 15 and an analyzer 16 at every optical shutter element 15. The polarizing element 18 is inserted between the emission end 13b and the polarizer 14, and through rotation controlling its polarization direction, the emitted light quantity is adjusted. The adjustment of the emitted light quantity is executed automatically, by rotating the polarization direction of the polarizing element 18 based on a detection result of a detector detecting the emitted light quantity. Furthermore, when an optical signal is not generated, a light shield effect is improved when a relation between the polarizing element 18 and the polarizer 14 or the analyzer 16 is made into crossed-Nicols configuration. In such a manner, when the emitted light quantity is adjusted, a spectroscopic distribution of emitted light will not change.</p> |
