<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome faults of a remote automatic power controller for a computer system by detecting clock signal loss at each data communication interface and generating a power-down signal. SOLUTION: Computers which are connected to data communication interfaces 331 are powered on to operate and become communicable with a peripheral device 308. A detector circuit 400 monitors the data communication interfaces 331. This detector circuit 400 detects a communication link inactive state among the data communication interfaces 332...342 and instructs a main power source 412 to stop supplying the electric power to a peripheral device component 320. The peripheral device component 320 is substantially powered down. Thus, the detector circuit 400 detects clock signal loss at each data communication interface 331 and generates a power-down signal in response to that.</p> |
