<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe coupling for waterworks to prevent the dropout of an elastic ring in a cap body, fitted in the outer periphery of a polyethylene pipe. SOLUTION: A pipe coupling for waterworks comprises a drum body part 10 having an O-ring 12 at the inner periphery to the deep part of which a polyethylene pipe P is inserted and in the inlet of which a female screw 14 is formed, and a cap body 20 having a taper hole 24 having one end part with a male screw 21 formed on its outer periphery and threadedly engaged with a female screw 14 and being tapered off from the opening of one end part toward an inlet in which the polyethylene pipe P at the other end part is inserted, and having an elastic ring 26 with an inner surface, on which a plurality of annular protrusions are formed in a wedge shape in cross section for alignment, and an outer peripheral surface formed in a taper shape. A flange (or a protrusion part) 25 is formed on the inner edge of the opening of one end part of the cap body 20, and a seat plate 30 for preventing the dropout of the elastic ring 26 is positioned between the elastic ring 26 and the flange 25.</p> |
