<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe joint which automatically locks a sleeve for operating an advanced locking element so as to improve operability. SOLUTION: A stopper 26 provided by projecting a locking part 25 on the outer periphery of a reduced diameter substantially C-shaped elastic body 24 is fitted to an annular groove 23 formed in the outer periphery of a socket main body 3 to be freely increased and decreased in diameter. When a sleeve 5 is put in the advance position, the stopper 26 is increased in diameter by resilient force so that a locking part 25 abuts to the wall part 33 of the sleeve 5 which is about to move backward to inhibit backward moving, and when the sleeve 5 is moved backward, the stopper 26 is moved in the direction of reducing in diameter so that the locking part 25 is dislocated from the wall part 33 to enable backward movement of the sleeve 5. In a pressing piece elevating hole 27 provided in the rear part of the sleeve 5, a pressing piece 28 for pressing the stopper 26 in the direction of the centripetal to be reduced in diameter is disposed in the state of freely moving in the direction of the centripetal to be stopped. When the wall part 33 of the sleeve 5 abuts on the locking part 25, the pressing piece 28 overlaps the locking part 25 to be moved in the centrifugal direction by resilient force of the elastic body 24.</p> |
