PURPOSE: A switch power pack of the type is provided to produce as good regulated an output voltage as possible with smaller manufacturing costs. CONSTITUTION: In a switching mode power supply unit with a transformer (1) with an E-shaped core(2), a winding (24, 25) is arranged around each side leg (22, 21). The current flow through the secondary side winding (24) is controlled by the output voltage to be regulated (U1). A regulating signal for controlling the switching frequency of the power supply unit is decoupled from the primary side winding (25). The otherwise required optical coupler can thus be dispensed with.
