PURPOSE:To prevent the flawing and chipping of the surfaces of an electrifying member and a body to be electrified by a developer and to assure the sufficient contact of the electrifying member and the body to be electrified by using a toner having a specific particle shape. CONSTITUTION:The particle shape of the toner of the developer to be used in the image forming method to execute electrification by bringing the electrifying member 2 into contact with the body 1 to be electrified and impressing a voltage thereto is specified to 0.95 to 1.00 Wadell practical spheroidicity. Namely, the contact area to the surfaces of the electrifying member 2 and a photosensitive body 1 is decreased as against the mechanical pressure and electrical pressure in the contact part of both members by increasing the sphericity of the developer, by which the adhesive strength of the developer is lowered. The good contact between the electrifying member 2 and the body 1 to be electrified is maintained in this way and the sticking of the developer to the electrifying member 2 and the body 1 to be electrified is prevented. |
