<p>Water jet cutting of glass sheet, comprising directing a flood of water onto the sheet back face at a point opposite the water jet impingement point, is new. A glass sheet is cut by a water jet, optionally containing abrasive material, while water is flooded onto the sheet face, opposite to that onto which the water jet is directed, to contact the sheet at a point opposite the impingement point of the water jet. An Independent claim is also included for equipment for carrying out the process of the invention.</p> |
