PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hoisting machine for elevator which is reduced in size and easy in maintenance and examination in the hoisting machine for elevator which can be installed within a hoistway and provided with a driving sheave around which a main rope is wound. SOLUTION: In this hoisting machine 15 having an outer rotor type permanent magnet motor in which a stator winding 27 is provided on a stator and an permanent magnet 25 is arranged outside opposite to an armature winding 27, a driving sheave 18 in which a main rope is wound around a rotor, a brake drum 33 on one side of the rotor, and a brake shoe 32 on the brake drum are arranged, and a speed detector 35 is arranged on the other side of the rotor. |
