PURPOSE: A set top box for digital broadcasting is provided to consecutively supply an advertisement to viewers regardless of broadcasting bands, and to display the advertisement on a TV screen all the time, so that an advertiser efficiently transmits the advertisement to the viewers. CONSTITUTION: A tuner(1) tunes in an RF digital broadcasting stream. A demultiplexer(2) separates the broadcasting stream into audio data, video data, and information data. A decoder(4) decodes the information data. A temporary storage(5) temporarily stores the decoded information data. An advertising data processor(3) retrieves advertising data from the information data, to update the advertising data, and confirms a display time of the advertising data. A graphic processor(7) converts the processed advertising data or the normal information data into image data. A data synthesizer(8) synthesizes the image data with image data decoded in a media decoder(6). |
