PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melody generating device generating melodies of various keys without a complicated constitution of a melody generating part. SOLUTION: Data for generating melody pitch Rgi of a prescribed key Ki is supplied to a melody generating part MG after converted (first shift SF1) to data Rg of a specific key Ko (C major, for example). The melody generating part MG generates melody pitch data Mp of the specific key Ko according to a prescribed melody generating algorithm based on the data for generating melody pitch Rg of the specific key Ko, code progress data Cs of the specific key Ko, the data for generating rhythm Rg, other data Dr, and the like. The generated data Mp and the code progress data Cs are modified into data Mpi and code progress data Csi of the desired prescribed key Ki (second shift SF2). The code progress data can be any key regardless of the specific key Ko. |
