The clavilanic acid salt can be used in pharmaceutical compositions together with pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, optionally with -lactam antibiotics. It can also be used as an intermediate product for the preparation of the potassium salt. The diclavulanic salt is a derivative of the clavulanic acid and diaminoether having the formula where R1 is alkylene group, optionally containing one or more inert substitutents, each of the R2 and R3 groups being hydrogen atom or alkyl group, optionally containing one or more inert substitutents, or R2 and R3 together form heterocyclic ring with 4 to 7 carbon atoms or optionally containing one or more inert substitutens. The salt is produced in reaction between bis (2-dialkylaminalkylene) ether (or its salt) and clavulanic acid in organic solvent after which it is isolated. 17 claims
