PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a calling number to an analog subscriber in an exchange is provided to transmit a calling number to a called analog subscriber using a DTMF signal. CONSTITUTION: If a termination request is generated from a calling exchange(201), an MP(Main Processor) checks whether a called subscriber telephone is registered in a CLIP(Calling Line Identification Presentation)(202). In case that the called analog telephone is registered in the CLIP, the MP requests the calling exchange to send a calling number(204). If the calling number is received(205), the MP requests the LTSP(Local service and Time Switch Processor) of a switching circuit to seize a DTMF channel to transmit the calling number(206). If the LTSP seizes a DTMF channel, the MP transmits the calling number to the called analog subscriber by transmitting a DTMF signal to the called analog telephone through an ASI(Analog Subscriber Interface)(207).
