METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROCESSING DATA OF FRANKING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device wherein a summary data accumulated in a franking machine which comprises a function which totals the number and amount of mail using the franking machine for each department at required unit period, is transferred to an external personal computer and the data is edited for display or print out as a simple summary table. SOLUTION: A franking machine PF comprising a function for storing a summary data on use of the franking machine is connected to an external personal computer PC so that the summary data is fetched into a memory or storage device on the personal computer side. Each department name corresponding to each department code is inputted and set and the fetched summary data is totaled for each department at required unit period. The data summary table for all departments in required period or the data summary table of each department is displayed on a personal computer screen along with each department name, or printed out.
