PURPOSE: An apparatus for testing a subscriber line and a signal equipment path in a mobile communication exchange and a method thereof are provided to ensure the stability of exchange by testing paths between subscriber lines and between signal equipments according to an operator instruction without using an external equipments. CONSTITUTION: An operator inputs an instruction and designates a subscriber line and a signal equipment, and requests to test the subscriber line and the signal equipment(S101). The designated subscriber line and the signal equipment are checked(S102). If the subscriber line and the signal equipment are in idle state(S103), a loop back for the corresponding subscriber line is formed(S104). If the loop back is normal(S105), a request for connecting the subscriber line to a time switch is performed(S106). Then, a request for connecting the designated signal equipment to the time switch is performed(S107). If the time switch is connected to the subscriber line and signal equipment(S108), a signal equipment control processor requests the signal equipment to send out a tone(S109). The signal equipment compares the received tone with the transmitted tone(S110). If the tones agree with each other(S111), the signal equipment processor informs a maintaining processor that the corresponding path is normal(S112). The maintaining processor determines whether the equipments are isolated or not(S113), and isolates the corresponding signal equipment in the signal equipment failure and excludes the corresponding subscriber line from service in the subscriber line failure(S114). |
