PURPOSE: A seek control method in a regenerative apparatus of a disk recording medium is provided to count mirror signals for indicating 1 track in a radius direction of the disk recording medium in a system controller every one period, and to move a pickup until the number of counts is as same as the number of target tracks, so as to exactly move the pickup to the target tracks even when a mis-count of the mirror signals is generated during a seek process. CONSTITUTION: A CPU initiates a seek control(100). The CPU adds the counted number of mirror signals(102). The CPU decides whether the counted number of the mirror signals is equal to the number of moving tracks(104). If not, the CPU detects a period of a mirror signal of a track, and stores the period in a RAM(106). The CPU decides whether a present period has an abnormal length relating to the stored previous period(108, 110). The CPU decides whether the present period satisfies a period relation of a mirror signal in the fastest area for the previous period(110, 112). The CPU confirms whether a focus servo is normal(114). If a focus error is generated, the CPU performs a forcible stop mode of a pickup to previously prevent a congestion seek(120). The CPU stops every servo system by using a control signal, and completes the seek control(122).
