PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save consumption power by stopping supplying power voltage to internal circuits except for receiving a television signal. SOLUTION: The tuner is provided with at least a mixture circuit 6 for converting the television signal to an intermediate frequency signal, a local oscillation circuit 8 for inputting a local oscillation signal into the mixture circuit 6, an intermediate-frequency amplifier circuit 10 for amplifying the intermediate frequency signal, and a PLL circuit 9 for controlling the oscillation frequency of the local oscillation circuit 8. The tuner is also provided with a switching means 16 for supplying power voltage to the circuits 6, 8, 10 and 9. The switching means 16 is turned ON when receiving the television signal, and is turned OFF when not receiving the television signal. |
