FORMING METHOD FOR DUG GROOVE OF RAW TIRE AND EQUIPMENT THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for forming a dug groove of a raw tire which enable formation of the dug groove of a required depth without being affected by the nonuniformity in the outside diameter of the raw tire. SOLUTION: In the forming method of the dug groove of the raw tire wherein the dug groove for a lug groove is formed in the outer peripheral surface of the raw tire by a cutter before vulcanization molding, the outside diameter r of a dug portion in the outer peripheral surface of the raw tire G is measured by a distance sensor 8 moved along the dug portion and the data on a cut shape of the raw tire in an ideal shape stored beforehand are corrected on the basis of the measured outside diameter r of the dug portion, while the cutter 2 is moved for digging in conformity with the corrected data on the cut shape.
