PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily establish conformation between an image to be formed and a recording medium and to readily record an image at low cost. SOLUTION: A kind of a recording medium to be supplied to a recording section is judged and a kind of an image to be formed based on image information is judged. The condition of correspondence between the kind of the image to be formed and the kind of the recording medium is determined based on the judged results. Driving or stopping of the recording operation or an informing operation such as a warning indication is executed in accordance with the determination.
