PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing NOx in combustion gas exhausted from a combustion furnace for combusting a fuel using high oxygen concentration gas. SOLUTION: A reduction method for NOx in combustion gas is adapted such that it contains oxygen and is exhausted from a combustion furnace for combusting a fuel with the aid of gas which contains 80% by volume or more of oxygen. In the method, a combustible substance is added to combustion gas at a temperature of 1000 to 1500 deg.C, which substance contains a compound containing C and H.
