PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an AC motor capable of improving a start response performance of the motor. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the AC motor comprises the steps of preferentially supplying an exciting part current to the upper limit allowed as the current at a starting time of the AC motor, controlling a power converter so as to supply a residual current allowed in a range of the maximum allowed current value of the converter as a torque part current to suppress the torque part current, supplying the exciting part current as high as possible in a range of the allowed maximum current of the converter, and fastening the exciting time of the motor. |
