PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for separating the volume- reductively gelated resin into a used solvent and its original resin with efficiency higher than by fractional distillation. SOLUTION: A volume-reductively gelated resin obtained by bringing a waste resin into contact with a solvent to gelate the waste resin volume-reductively is housed in a pressurizing chamber 1A. The pressure of the chamber 1A is made high by introducing a pressurized fluid into the chamber 1A forcibly and the volume-reductively gelated resin is compressed so that the volume- reductively gelated resin can be separated into the used solvent and the original resin.
