Manufacture of an electrical cable system (1) for installation over longitudinally expandable-contractible element, comprises disposing secondary element over electrical cable to give electrical cable attached undulations, thus forming additional length; installing by clamping the electrical cable system to expandable-contractible element; and handling secondary element after clamping to release attachment of undulations. Manufacture of an electrical cable system having an electrical cable containing a conductor core and for installing the electrical cable system over a longitudinally expandable-contractible element, comprises: (a) disposing a secondary element over the electrical cable to give the electrical cable attached undulations, thus forming an additional length; (b) installing by clamping at least at two points the electrical cable system to the longitudinally expandable-contractible element; and (c) handling the secondary element after the clamping to release the attachment of the undulations thus converting the additional length into a free to be used excess length. Independent claims are also included for: (a) an electrical cable system having an electrical cable containing a conductor core and suitable for being installed by clamping over a longitudinally expandable-contractible element, comprising a secondary element which is disposed over the electrical cable in a way to give the electrical cable attached undulations before and during the clamping, thus forming an additional length, and the secondary element is handleable in order to release the attachment of the undulations after the clamping, thus converting the additional length in a free to be used excess length; and (b) a heating system having an electrical cable system and is clamped at least at two points to a subsea pipeline. |
