<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member easy to work, preventing abnormal wear and a seizure, and provide a fuel injection pump. SOLUTION: A shoe 27 and a roller 28 form a sliding part capable of conducting relative sliding motion. Since the shoe 27 is formed with an iron base metal, a complicated shape like a curved surface part 27a can easily be worked. A hard film layer 271 made of metal-containing diamond like carbon or ceramics, for example, is formed on the shoe 27. The roller member 28 is a column shape, and easily formed even with ceramic. By forming the hard film layer on the shoe 271, the surface of the shoe 271 is not only protected but also the sticking of the iron base metal forming the shoe 271 to the roller member 28 caused by the softening by the heat generation in the sliding part is prevented. Therefore, abnormal wear and seizing can be prevented, and fuel pressure can be increased.</p> |
