A separable wood shim assembly for providing wood shims of selectable width is provided. The assembly has two wedge-shaped wood shims superposed so that they taper along a same direction. A breakable connector, such as a thin str ip of wood, joins the contiguous surfaces of both shims. In this manner, the assembly my be used easily as either a simple or double-width shim. There are also provided a bundle of wood shim assemblies, a convenient bag to wrap this bundle and an advantageous method to make the wood shim assemblies.
