PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod having a top rod sharply reactive and preventing breakage. SOLUTION: A top guide 6 having a stationary part 6a in which top on top side of the top rod 4 is inserted and fixed is attached to the top rod 4 of the fishing rod. A slide guide 5 arranged slidably in the axial direction on the peripheral surface of the top rod 4 is arranged in the top rod 4 the slide guide 5 has a cylindrical pipe-like part 5a corresponding to outside diameter near the center in the axial direction of the top rod 4 and having an inner diameterΔX smaller than an outside diameterΔY of the stationary part 6a of the top guide 6 and a Hakama (ceremonial skirt)-shaped pipe 5d connected to the top side of the pipe-like part 5a and capable of covering the stationary part 6a of the top guide 6.
