PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-barrier film which is excellent in transparency so that its contents can be seen from the outside, can be tested by a metal detector, develops gas-barrier properties through a short time drying process by a wet coating method using an existing apparatus, is good in performance/cost and processability, has a high oxygen-barrier property under high temperatures and high humidity, is improved in flexibility necessary to a packaging material, is made without using substances causing environmental pollution, and is optimum as a packaging material. SOLUTION: An anchor coat layer 2, a gas-barrier coat layer 3 containing an alkali metal polysilicate expressed by formula of M2 O.nSiO2 as a main component, and an overcoat layer 4 are laminated in turn at least on one side of a base material 1 of a plastic material.
