PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically control external equipment in synchronization with switching of inputs, with the external equipment being connected to a selected input. SOLUTION: Information (equipment manufacture, equipment name, remote control code, etc)., is set for external equipment (DVHS, etc.), to be controlled at switching of inputs. Based on the contents (turning on a power supply, etc.), of the setting, the external equipment connected to an external input is controlled (turning on the power supply and starting of reproduction in ST308) at switching of the inputs (YES in ST101, YES in ST181, YES in ST306).
