PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a wet refuse treating apparatus from the wet refuse throwing-in port of which a malodor can be prevented from being leaked when the wet refuse is thrown through it without making a ventilating means larger even if this apparatus has a deodorizing means causing pressure loss in the exhausting passage. SOLUTION: This wet refuse treating apparatus is provided with a gate 8 for opening or closing the wet refuse throwing-in port 7, a pipe B for discharging the gas in a wet refuse treating tank 2, a motor-driven fan 63 for ventilating the tank 2 and a deodorizing unit 61 for deodorizing the gas to be discharged. An exhausting pipe 68 for discharging the deodorized gas to the outside, a second solenoid valve 66 for opening or closing a pipe 68, a recycling pipe 67 for recycling the deodorized gas into the port 7 and a first solenoid valve 65 for opening or closing the pipe 67 are arranged on the downstream of the pipe B. A control unit 22 is also provided in this apparatus for controlling the valves 65 and 66 so that the valve 66 is opened when the pot 7 is closed by the gate 8 and the valve 65 is opened when the port 7 is opened by the gate 8.
