The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for the usage of an SDRAM (SDR) as storage for correction and track buffering in frontend ICs of optical recording or reproduction devices, and more particularly to a method and an arrangement for the usage of an SDRAM (SDR) as storage for correction and track buffering in DVD and CD frontend ICs. For this purpose the data to be stored or read are organized in appropriate bursts for accelerating the SDRAM (SDR) traffic.
