PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants-shaped disposable wearing article in which a large number of crepe gathers are prevented from being formed on a sheet. SOLUTION: In the underpants-shaped wearing article 1 which is constituted of sheet members and a liquid absorbent member 25 and in which by fixing neighborhoods of side edges 13 of sheet members, a girth opening 3 and openings 4 around the legs are formed, the sheet members are formed of an outside sheet 5 and the inside sheet 6 and a plurality of auxiliary elastic members 19 extending in the girth direction are fitted under an elongated condition between these sheets 5 and 6 and have both end parts 19a fixed in the neighborhoods of the side edges 13 of the sheet members and central parts 19b being not fixed on the inside and outside sheets 5 and 6 and fixed parts 20 fixing the inner faces of the inside and outside sheets 5 and 6 are formed in regions between the auxiliary elastic members 19 and in a region 17 where the liquid-absorbent member 25 exists in the front and back girth regions 7 and 9.
